The nar are an incredibly ancient species, at home in the deep places and knowledgeable about the underdark and all who dwell there.

Nar stand at least 8 foot tall, have a highly developed musculature and always appear hale and hearty. Short thick fur covers their bodies. They can pass through solid ground as easily as humans walk through water.

The nar communicate through speech (in the human range) as well as beyond what the human ear can hear.

Much is unknown about their distant past, and theories amongst scholars abound. They are known to be a humble, selfless people, who value knowledge and wisdom and eschew conflict. Very little is known about their skill with magic.

They are physically impressive, so much so that medical arts are virtually unknown to them. Their musculo-skeletal system is particularly robust, as their bones are made of denser material than humans and have a better load-bearing capacity than most. It is known that they self-heal and can even take the wounds of others unto themselves.
