Beachmarsh lies on the north fringe of the Pai Wetlands. A major secondary road, well-maintained and heavily used, runs east, through the Plains of Pai, via Goldmarsh to the Royal Road. Two trackways extend to the south into the marsh, one towards Savimasko and the other to Dracmarsh, Barrowmarsh, and Pai.
In the centre of the village stands a fabulous monument: a floating crystal of shimmering blue light. It commemorates the founding of the village, but nobody alive is able to recall who fashioned it, or when.
The village is an active agricultural hub, centred around the extraction of peat from the marshes. Teams of workers explore the marsh and locate a stretch with mature peat. This is laboriously extracted, processed, and stored in the village for sale and transport.
Elder Maeson Oates runs the village. Councillor Adanno Castaway is in charge of peat production and export. Lynardus Potter is a skilled armourer, and also maintains the local walkway and peat extraction equipment. The linguist mage Genaesys Glazier lives somewhere in the wetlands nearby, and is often seen in the village, accompanied by an unknown swordsman.
