Faymeadow lies on the Gulf of Camfor, in the sheltered Bay of Horses. The village lies east of Camfor, about two days travel, at the outlet of the Nymphborn River.
The village boasts a substantial harbour, mimicking in layout the famous Main Docks of Camfor. The unusually broad streets of the sprawling settlement have fanciful names, such as Gilarrior, Sindereth, Frissando, and Twispinel. Even more unusual is the imposing large theatre and public library, rivalling those found in major centres such as Camfor and Pai.
The design of the village and the erection of the major structures was undertaken by Archmage Agu, the Summoner of Memory. Agu the Summoner created his tower – the Tower of Memory – on a prominent limestone headland about 135 years ago. He then bankrolled the substantial building project that resulted in the major components of the settlement. Today, the Tower of Memory is the stronghold of the Enchanter Evyn Mares.
The construction of the tower led to an influx of people from across Kalderesh who were then invited to settle in the new village. An inn, The Horse’s Mug, built at that time, still stands on the approach road to the village. Today there are third-generation families living and prospering in the village. Emilanus Oats is the Council Elder of Faymeadow, and is himself a third-generation resident.
There is a chapel to Sahir, a chantry each to Oohm and Salaah, several shrines, and a particularly magnificent All-Gods.
The village is known for being a place to find high-quality, hand-crafted goods. Fashionable and ornate hair combs, often of amber and gold, are a local specialty. Magic users wishing to create magical devices often travel here to have custom items made.
