The village’s name was supposed to be Grassedge but an error made in the official Founding Registry of Settlements has immortalized the curious name.
The Dirty Rainbow, belonging to Goshwa Berg, is the most popular watering hole in Glassedge. It is a must-stop for barge pilots and crew, who receive special discount on drinks and certain meals.

Glassedge lies in a broad little valley in southern Kirvan, bordering the Big Valley, on the banks of the Sand River.

It is an agricultural village, overlooking a broad floodplain, on to which rich soils are deposited each season by the Sand River and its tributaries. Large plots for growing vegetables, bush rice, sand nuts, and hempen, are cared for by the community, which is led by Mayor Maetho Land.

Glassedge is downriver from Byburn. Occasionally, raw materials are received from Byburn via river barge. These are warehoused and finally shipped to the bridge at the Royal Road, 35 km downstream.

Senior Goshwa Berg, the first councillor, is a retired mercenary of some repute. He owns a large inn, and is partially responsible for the barge traffic from Byburn. Each year, he co-sponsors a lively river festival.

Supreme Wizard Xavius Shepherd is an independent scholar resident in Glassedge. His mansion and observatory are located in the centre of the village. He is a world-wide expert on plants, insects, and meteorology.

Glassedge is the southernmost settlement within the Principality of Laneder. A prominent complex of buildings, which includes three towers, a fortified manor, and barracks, stands on the southern edge of the village. It has not been fully staffed in many decades, and only a castellan, Gavyn Brownard, is resident there. It is unknown what the intended use of the complex is.
