Coldmist lies centrally on the sweeping plains between Barforos and Sikafor. It is located on the banks of the Aemilya River, at the throat of the Lilly Valley. Several trails lead to other small settlements.
The river is a rich source of fish and livestock range broadly in the valley above. Small scale mineral, gem, and gold mines are scattered along the sides of the valley.
It is rumoured that a temple to a dark god is located in the hills west of the village; this may or may not be related to stories that the Grand Arcane Caerlotta Pikeman has a stronghold in an abandoned mine. The noted outlaw Emynwell Rainard is said to have his lair in or near Coldmist.
