Larkmead lies in eastern Kirvan, about a day's travel from Londesh and a short distance from the Royal Road. Trails connect it to Highmoor and Greywynne.

It is a small, rather curious, agricultural village, mainly supplying goods to Londesh. It lies on a tributary of the River Oak, locally called the Corn.

The village elder, Camerus Pynes, supervises the production of hempen and cotton goods.

A small but industrious craftworks on the edge of the village produces a fine range of ceramic goods, made from local fortified clays. In addition to mundane items, a range of alchemical equipment is produced, including the finest crucibles in Kalderesh.

Leonus Butchett is the head of the Butchett family, who are teamsters and freighters. They operate out of Larkmead, specializing in animal handling and wagon construction and repair. Leonus has been breeding a special line of horses, particularly adept at hauling heavy loads for long distances.

At the other end of the occupational spectrum, Larkmead is notable for the large number of scholars and theoretical artisans that were born here. An independent guild of scholars, the Circle of Elder Followers, known for their black cloaks and red caps, provides exceptional training to gifted scholars from across the kingdom. The location of their educational facility is unknown.
