Riverton lies in the Pai Wetlands, just north-east of Savimasko on the banks of the Green River.

Adannius Salt, a craftsman of some skill, is the village elder. Less than 200 people live here today.

Almost four centuries ago, a Sanctuary of Salaah was built here and flourished for a time. Unfortunately, water levels rose dangerously and the complex was rapidly flooded. Today it is deep underwater.

The hamlet of Riverton today stands where the original village was, several hundred metres away from the sanctuary’s original location. Then, as now, peated silkweed is harvested from the marshy surrounds; the best quality grows very deep underwater. The silkweed, similar in appearance to saffron, makes a refreshing infusion. It doesn’t appear to grow anywhere else in the Pai Wetlands, and alderman Salt zealously controls the harvesting and export of this natural gem.
