Millhaven Krethes village 3,100 4634
Parse wheat from Millhaven ready for winter storage.

Millhaven lies 35 km inland, on the River Eel in north-central Krethes. It lies at the head of Eel Valley, which extends northwards into a region well-suited for the growth of tobacco, particularly along the western slopes of the valley. Millweed is well-known across Kalderesh.

Vegetables, parse wheat and river lichen are cultivated in the valley and along the Eel. The river lichen is dried and ground and makes a fine condiment.

Salt and clay is groove mined a few kilometres south of the village. A range of ceramic products are manufactured.

Recently, increased numbers of crested taymarks have been spotted in the valley, and some of the villagers hunt them frequently.

The leader of the settlement is Wyaett Kneadler, a follower of Salaah and a knowledgeable apothecary. Millhavenites takes pride in their celebration of King’s Day, organized by councillor Aaryn Swymmer.

On occasion, a remarkable visitor appears in the village: the famed barbarian Duridid Jurdan Mistwalker. His presence is greeted with mixed feelings: some say that he is a noble who fell out of favour with the power elites; others say he is little more than a wild animal parading around on two legs.

Five years ago a mysterious beast attacked the village, rising up out of the River Eel and slaughtering many villagers. Fortunately, the beast’s appearance coincided with a visit by Mistwalker, who pursued the beast into the western hills and killed it.

In 4677 a group of evil-doers and bandits tried to overthrow the town, apparently in an attempt to use the village as their base of operations, and presumably the villagers as their slaves. The raiders were well-organized and equipped and caused much devastation. Fortunately, support arrived from Strongfield and the criminals were taken care of.
