Esterley lies on the banks of the Dovebek, on the gentle grassy hills between the Royal Road and Laneder. It is an agricultural hub as well as a traveller’s mecca.
Mayor Jaecoby Watters is a wealthy merchant, the youngest son of a trader from Laneder. He has lavish offices in the central municipal building and court house. First Councillor Jaeck Cray oversees the many prosperous inns and other travel-related concerns servicing those going between Barforos and Laneder.
The most luxurious traveller’s residence, the Inn of Fourteen Virtues, greets travellers from the north as they enter the settlement.
A small temple of Arawn stands near the old market, as does a modest building housing the local chapter of the Wizard’s Guild.
Sheep graze the grassy hills, river eel are hunted in the Dovebek, and bush nuts thrive against the southern slopes of the hills near the river. Several gifted metal workers live in Esterley, providing much of the farming equipment and tools used in this region.
The village is well known for its annual sheep rodeo, in which local children compete enthusiastically.
