Turnkeep is a coastal village on Coth-Rom Sound, at the mouth of the Dog River. The Royal Road passes through the farmlands surrounding the settlement.

The village elder is the Salee Aella Henkeeper. She is often away from Turnkeep for extended periods of time, during which the first councillor, Alysea Deels, is in charge.

The wizard Arielle Piers, a well-known tower architect, runs a workshop for manufacturing religious trinkets and worshipperies, popular amongst travellers and explorers.

The Razimite swashbuckler Huntyr Needler has a modest home in town; he occasionally receives visitors for martial training.

The Saar Aedyn Beach has a small magical workshop with an associated chantry.

In recent years a massive sinkhole appeared just to the north of the village. It soon filled with water, and is now used as an eel hatchery.
