Rayhall Manor is no longer the mayorial seat of the village. Today, it is the home and scholastic centre of Oakes & Milk.

Rayhall is a small coastal settlement a short distance west of Daernbeck. Rayhall’s village council is headed by Cameryn Ankor; councillor Axyl Sandflats represents the fisherman of the community.

On the road leading into the village is an impressive arena, Dyson’s Round. For most of its history, Rayhall was just a sleepy fishing village with a small farming community, existing to provide supplies to Daernbeck. Then, around 4560, Hynrus Dyson, a master smith from Daernbeck, relocated to the village. He specialized in manufacturing armour, but found the noise and bustle of the city disturbing. When he moved to Rayhall, he brought with him apprentices and equipment, and set up his workshop on the edge of the village. For the next few years, he continued to make armour until one day he noticed the barding on a visiting cavalier’s horse. He recognized several improvements that could be made, and within a year he developed his own style. It didn’t take long for Dyson’s Barding to become the gold standard.

In the metallurgic process of treating the metal components, a vapour was created that turned human hair green. Dyson embraced this side-effect and established the tradition that all workers would have green dyed hair.

The Dyson family continued this tradition of expert craftmanship, and they still produce the finest barding in Kalderesh. Andreya Dyson, the current master smith, oversees the official barding for Aadite paladins and cavaliers. Her brother, Chrystan Dyson, makes specialized equipment for the nobility. And as is tradition, Dyson workers still have green hair today.

Rayhall’s historical manor is a tower owned by Ericus Oakes, a well-known legal expert, who is often consulted on important matters of the law. His companion, Samaentha Milk, is knowledgeable about alchemy and assaying.

An annual festival, co-hosted by the Qidranian and Oohmian temples, celebrates the bountiful harvest, mainly of vegetables but also including livestock.
