Wyverndell is a fishing village at the mouth of the Wyvern River on Efron Bay in the Coth-Rom Sound. It is one of three coastal settlements on the long Royal Road between Coth-Rom and Daernbeck. Travellers to Coth-Rom often spend the night here, before undertaking the last leg of their journey to the city. A striking-looking castle, Soward Hall, stands on a promontory near Wyverndell; it is often used as a waymarker by travellers.

The village leader, Alina Flowers, is an expert tailor and has a small shop in Coth-Rom. First Councillor Graysen Clay is known for his skill at making wind instruments.

The little harbour is adequate for the small fishing boats that regularly ply the oceans. However, an extensive treacherous reef essentially cordon’s off the beach and harbour area, requiring skilled pilots and the use of boats with very shallow draft.

The only chapel in the village is dedicated to Oohm, and is looked after by Priest Ysaac Mast. Father Mast is a furrier, and his hunting range is to the north of the village. He often hunts with the Qidranian tracker Lyam Castaway.

Castaway is employed as castellan of Soward Hall, a castle of classic design that stands on the coast outside the village. Soward Hall is the property of Master Alyn Soward, Governor of the Guild of Armorers & Locksmiths in Coth-Rom. Master Soward visits irregularly, but the Hall is immaculately maintained by a large staff of villagers.
