Linmill is a small settlement on the River Lin, on a secondary road connecting two stretches of the Royal Road.

Cameryn Avenel is the Council Elder, ably assisted by Braidyn Shell who runs the local government office. Although the village is officially under the jurisdiction of Viscount Adstan Biche (of nearby Northriver), Lord Biche rarely gets involved in village matters, trusting the Council to run their own affairs.

The townsfolk are justifiably proud that their small settlement is home to an ordained Temple. The Temple of Qidra is overseen by Lady Alyson Park, a high priest of Qidra, and assisted by her second priest, Priest Serlon Lynder and four other clerics.

The village also has a splendid All-Gods, overseen by Claudien Grove and her three colleagues.

Linmill has an official town guard, captained by Anton Helms, who has three assistants. They occupy a largely-abandoned military compound adjacent to the harbour. A dozen skiffs are usually anchored here, used for fishing and eel-catching. The village has an alchemist (Tursten of Savimasko), a specialist stationer (Idonia Banks), a money changer (Francis Crepin), and a pawn shop (Oswold Star).

A magnificent stately home, Wolf Manor, is located on a large somewhat swampy property adjacent to the village centre. It is the home of a retired explorer, Hezekial Wolf, and his family.

In addition to the surrounding farmlands, the river is a good source of protein in the form of river carp and eel. Nearby Linwood is a source of timber, and several species of tasty, shade-loving tubers. Beyond the forest is the Swamp of Azaar, a deadly place to be avoided.
