Brightlake is a sleepy coastal village south of Aldwynne Swamp. Fishing and mollusc gathering, and an extensive cirrus wheat plantation, are the main agricultural activities.
The elder councilman is Zachaery Groveland, a quiet and patient clockmaker who produces some exceptional timepieces. The little village is also home to Leo Plaza, a retired military officer and devoted Aadite, who now crafts masterpiece musical instruments.
A rather impressive stone ruin stands on the western edge of town. It’s once-impressive five towers have long since collapsed. Over a century ago, two adventurers settled here and built a magnificent stronghold. Evidently, one section housed a fighter’s guild, and the other a wizard’s complex. What became of them is unknown. The only other trace of their story is a small metal chest, in care of the town leader. Every year, on March 13, 100 gold pieces appear in the chest, and these are used, as is the custom, to fund a town festival in honour of “The Heroes of Brightlake”.
