Kleerby is an unassuming hamlet off the Royal Road on the banks of the River Kleer. It lies in a rich little valley and is heavily planted with bush rice, grimble, milkworte, sand nuts, and vegetables. It is one of a number of villages that exports large quantities of food to Cordell for distribution.

The mayor, Maya Arch, oversees the food production and supply, assisted by First Councillor Gael Fishman. The Aranite Braendyn Season oversees a chantry to Arawn, while Lady Aodreia Raftman is in charge of the Aadite chantry. The Grand Wizard Ryla Flats lives in the village. She is a retired adventurer and an independent scholar, specializing in The Seven, music, and cartography.

Often seen in town are red-cloaked scholars and students from the nearby Tower of Alchemy. The Tower is the private school of the famous alchemist Espan Clare. Master Clare sponsors the annual Festival of Lights in the village.
