Summerhall is a coastal village in north-western Daern at the mouth of the Eaglerun.

The village is led by mayor Alyxa Pickler. It is primarily a fishing village. Potter’s clay is gathered from the river banks and used to make pottery goods and ceramic tiles. Beach rice is widely cultivated and exported.

On a hill overlooking the village stands an imposing ruined fortress, the original Summer Hall. This deserted structure was the origins of the village about a century ago.

Matto Cottonseed was a very wealthy merchant from Camfor. He wanted a holiday residence away from the bustling city, so he had Summer Hall built. He bought a vast tract of land, spared no expense, and within a few years his fanciful fort complex stood on a hill overlooking a temporary village and basic harbour. Cottonseed wanted nothing to do with governing a settlement and let the village run itself. The village grew slowly but steadily. Then Cottonseed died unexpectedly. His children squabbled over their inheritance resulting in protracted legal disputes and Summer Hall was abandoned by the family. The staff were not paid and eventually left, moving into the village. Summer Hall fell into disrepair when the family went bankrupt and, from the perspective of distant Camfor, this distant folly was forgotten.
